Cecilia Santamarina. Art and Design Curator . Born in Guatemala where she became a cultural manager and film producer. In 2014 she moved to London where she attended Sotheby’s Arts Institute, while she continued with her satisfying  management work .
Since 2015 she started and has curated the VIA ARTS PRIZE on a yearly basis until 2020.  She has brought artists from Latin America to London through LATINARIA COLLECTIVE she founded with curator Irene Due in 2015, and has brought it to other cities like Buenos Aires and San Diego. She has developed installations at the International Fashion Showcase and the London Design Biennale alongside architects and designers of different sorts. In 2016 the Jury gave her the Special Mention for curating the Guatemala Rebooting Dreams Installation. In 2018 the Palopó Installation won the public medal at the London Design Biennale curated by her and designed by Diego Olivero in collaboration with Sylvia Denburg. For 2021 she curated Nostalgia by Artist Maria Adela Diaz in collaboration with maestro Joaquin Orellana for LDB among other projects. In 2020 she is chosen as the 20 curators of innovative proposals by the Vienna Design Biennale. She is Ad Honorem Culture Attaché of Guatemala in the UK, she Chaired the Association of Cultural Attachés of Latin America Spain and Portugal 2018-2021. Member of the Advisory Council of the Institute of Latin America Studies 2018-2022. In parallel, she collaborates with events in her country, the most recent being Artistic Memory of 2020, Asymmetrical Stories, Cuadernos de La Escondida, and  La Espera.  During Summer of 2023 she  curated and managed the Summer Eurotour for Artist Mendel Samayoa to the Netherlands, Poland and UK which had a closing magnificent exhibit of his big format pieces in Real Continental (dec 2023- march 2024)
In Jan 2024 she was admitted to Plymouth University Marjon in pursuit of a MA in Creative Practice.
